Happy Birthday Audrey Hepburn

Happy Birthday to one of the most classy ladies to ever grace the big screen, the late Ms. Audrey Hepburn.

Audrey Hepburn has not only lived on through her work but has become a noted pop culture icon. Her character Holly Golightly, from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s is still being replicated 50 years later through fashion and women of the world . Not only was she a great actress, she was a humanitarian.

My favorite Audrey Hepburn memory was when I was nine and my mother introduced me to the musical My Fair Lady. She was so beautiful and poised on screen. I was mesmerized as a kid.

She just moved with such elegance and it was something I truly admired. Movies like Sabrina, Roman Holiday, etc are just examples of her movie magic. In honor of her today I will be watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

My favorite scene in the movie was the early morning cab ride to Tiffany’s on 5th Ave in New York. The way she stood in front of the store window dreaming of a life that would allow her to walk in that store and buy whatever diamond she wanted was so relatable.

I watch that part at least three times before I can finish the movie. Today we celebrate an icon, a true beauty, and philanthropic woman. Happy Birthday Audrey!
