Married at First Sight: Could You Do It?

Do you believe in love at first sight? The reality show Married at First Sight is a show based around a social experiment that people can fall in love with some one they’ve never met.

This was basically an arranged marriage. However, the couple’s had an option to divorce after five weeks if the relationship wasn’t working. Out of the four couples only two of them stayed together. The couples whom stayed together now star in a spin-off reality show about their first year of marriage.

In the show the couples openly admit that they weren’t in love with each other and that they had to grow their trust. They also confirm that they are still in the process of building a foundation. One of the wives wants to start a family but the husband is still apprehensive. He wants to just enjoy his wife for the moment.

After watching the clip of these people who have found love that is orchestrated it seems like they have more pressure due to the commitment they have taken on. I think it is important in any relationship to get to know someone fully before making a major commitment. You look over your contracts before signing them right? So we should be like that with people.

Finding out all their quirks once I’ve said I do just wouldn’t work for me. I have never loved someone at first sight. This show proves that most of us normally don’t. I’ve experience lust at first sight but that was my vagina talking not my heart.

I am not sure the experiment really worked although these two couples stayed together. Relationships are hard period but without foundation its even harder. I think these people have a long road ahead.

Do you all think you can fall in love at first sight?
