The Hard Truth About Setting Sprays: Are they Worth the Money?

glamour.com reports

The other day I committed the number one cardinal cosmetic sin: I fell asleep with my makeup on. And I’m talking the works—primer, false lashes, lip gloss, cream foundation, blush/bronzer/highlighter, and filled-in eyebrows—the latter of which had transferred to my forearm by the time I came to a mere three hours later.

Perfect Eyebrows!

Not that I want my makeup to stay on while I sleep per se, but I was a bit miffed when I woke up to a picture-perfect eyebrow stencil on my arm/pillow. I’d just done them earlier that evening—shouldn’t my brows have lasted a little longer? (And before you ask, it’s not like I was rolling around and rubbing my face all over my bed. I’m proud to say that I’m a super still sleeper, and I always wake up in the same position I fall asleep in.)

Plus Size Fashion!

Searching for a quick and easy way to remedy this situation in the future, I found something rather interesting from one of my digital partners in primping crime, Petra. A while back she tested a makeup setting spray while she slumbered (which she geniusly dubbed a ‘hairspray for your face’), and said that she woke up with her makeup still fully in tact.

Vintage Swimsuits!

That to me sounds like an amazing gift and a risky curse. Tell the truth—how many of you would start doing your makeup several nights a week before you go to bed? There are pluses here, like, say, waking up stunning next to the boy, and shaving several minutes off of your morning primping routine. However, there are minuses as well, like, say, never giving your skin a break. When you’re sleeping, your skin is going through its own rejuvenating process. Relying heavily on a makeup setting spray would mean that you’d essentially be all dolled up 24 hours a day and your skin would get all clogged up because you wouldn’t be washing it as much, and it would never have a chance to breathe…

But going back to original dilemma at hand, I’m going to put one to the test and see if my brows can stay put through the night. Wanna join in on the fun? Here are a few recommendations to get you started.
