Did Drake Really Skip the BET Awards Because of Chris Brown?
Drake was nominated for 12 BET awards but was a no show during the ceremony. The rumor gates started to flood due to his absence. Most of the blogs were reporting that Drake was MIA because of his long running beef with Chris Brown.

I am not sure why the media likes to protray these two like “Pac and Big” that cracks me up. Those two epic rappers were from the streets while Drake and Breezy go and visit. I am almost certain that if Drake would have come it wouldn’t been no fighting.
Well Drake gave a statement to stop the rumor mill in reference to him being scared to come because of Chris Brown.

“The BET Awards are always a good time and I’m sorry I could not be there to celebrate,” he apologized. “I’m in Toronto due to a family matter but I have a lot of gratitude for BET and the fans,” he continued.
So there you have it. He wasn’t hiding he had some family business to attend to. Which is big of him to skip the BET awards to make sure his family is ok. The “Take Care” rapper was nominated for 12 awards and he won three.

He can add his 3 BET awards to his Grammy he won for Best Rap Album for Take Care. He is currently working on a new album called “Nothing was the Same” with a release date of September 10th.
