Where have you been…

Where have you been…

I truly have neglected this website and my online social platforms outside of Instagram. So let me start by explaining why. June of 2017 I started planning my wedding renewal to my forever friend. For those of you who are not aware and wondering why I chose to get married for a second time, I will explain here.

Back in August of 2012, I got engaged. I began planning a beautiful wedding in NJ. This wedding was going to be way larger and cost us way more money due to the size of family/friends.

However, life had other plans. My husband accepted a job in Dubai prior to our engagement and was living there for almost a year. We decided that me quitting my job and moving abroad together was the best option. Which threw a monkey wrench in all of our previous wedding planning.

By this time in our decision-making, most of our family had moved away. Due to relocation, no one was able to make the surprise nuptials. Luckily, my cousin Mattie and Jay’s best friend Gee were able to stand with us on our special day February 8th 2013.

The show must go on…

Then I found our relationship and brand new marriage whisked away to the sandy haven of Dubai. No family, friends, or safe spaces. Under those conditions anyone is bound to crack. Not us. We made it through like no other.

I believe it was our communication and friendship that always made everything alright. With all of Dubai’s changes we as a family were able to keep our foundation in tact.

After five years, we returned to the US. Upon returning we decided that it was the perfect time to renew our vows after 5 years of marriage and 10 years of courtship.

Next, I planned a wedding for 50 people in 8 months. Worked on my health which resulted in becoming a runner and weight loss. However, wedding planning is very stressful and if I could change one thing I would.

When I think back on February 8th 2018, I can only remember small pieces of our wedding renewal.

My guest explained to us how really beautiful it was and appreciated our little details that made them feel special. I believe I retained the most important parts. The vows, jumping the broom, our first dance and cutting the cake. Everything else was a blur as it came as fast as it went.

All that matters was the guest had a great time and our parents got to see their children get married for the first time.

After the thank you cards were mailed and the last piece of wedding cake was cut I really understood how important these milestones truly were. How these moments really shape what’s to come and the people who witnessed.

During that event there were so many relationships that grew and came full circle. We really brought the best people in our lives together for one an amazing moment. All the things we planned may not have gone perfectly but the moments that were created were irreplaceable.

What to expect …..

Finally, I am starting a podcast on the Anchor app. I will be talking about all my favorite things like relationships, motivation, current events in pop culture and the food recipe of the week. I’m beyond excited! I may have a name for the podcast, but I won’t share it just yet.

Lastly, I shot a new video on my YouTube channel. You should check it out. Well, if you want to.

Until next time…

I love you for reading.

xoxo
